Specialized Trainings for Recovery of Assets Acquired through Criminal Activity and for the Use of Special Intelligence Means to Combat Corruption

It is planned to conduct two trainings within the Activity - for recovery of assets acquired through criminal activity and for use of Special Intelligence Means. Through the training for recovery of assets acquired from criminal activity, new knowledge and skills will be acquired for the employees in the system for tracking, securing and confiscation of illegally acquired property. The training is aimed at improving the implementation and effectiveness of existing instruments for identifying assets acquired through criminal activity. They will create good practices in the identifying and confiscation of illegally acquired property with the ultimate goal of improving the capacity of all bodies involved in the identifying of assets - CACIAF, law enforcement agencies, prosecutors and others.

Participation in the second planned training – for the use of Special Intelligence Means, will be by CACIAF staff from the specialized directorate “Counteracting Corruption” and magistrates. The main goal is to enhance the qualification of the CACIAF staff working with special intelligence tools by discussing the difficulties, interaction and cooperation between the different institutions related to the use of special intelligence tools in order to prevent and detect corruption offenses, legal regulation and clarifying the complex nature of special intelligence means implementation, as well as gaining knowledge of special operations methods used to monitor persons suspected of preparing or committing corruption offenses.
